Apple juice BBQ sauce

1cup apple juice
12 oz ketchup
1/8 onion finely chopped
1 large garlic clove crushed
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp a1
3 heavy grinds black pepper
2 quick dashes liquid smoke
2 heavy squeezes of honey
1 tbs of rum

Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan, bring to a boil, then simmer for 20-30 minutes stirring occasionally till it achieves desired consistency.
