They were in Hawaii for years while he served in the army. This recipe is adapted from cooking the pig in banana leaves in the ground to an oven. Very authentic.

3 TB salt
2 TB msg
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 clove crushed garlic
1 small piece ginger root - crushed
5 lb pork roast
Liquid smoke

Mix seasonings and run into roast. Marinate overnight. Put in foil lined roast pan.

Roast @ 375 degrees for 5 hours. Add 1 cup water before roasting. Serve shredded

***good served with rice
