1 1/2 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 tablespoon baking power
2 tablespoons sugar
Mix all together in mixing bowl and set aside

10 oz shortening/lard or 5 oz each
Cut into dry mixture to resemble large beans or peas

1 1/4 cup buttermilk
Mix into dry mixture until blended. Knead on table for a few moments and roll out to 1 inch thick

Cut into 2 to 3 inch biscuits.. Brush milk on top and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or golden brown.

Variations: To use in sweet form you can increase sugar by 1/2 cup more and brush tops with milk and sprinkle sugar on top. Use this way for shortcakes.
