Panko Mozzarella Sticks

16 mozzarella string cheese, 1/2 cup flour, 2 large beaten eggs, 1/4 cup whole milk, 2 cups panko breadcrumbs, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp pepper, 1 tbsp oregano flakes, oil, marinara sauce (optional)
Place flour in small dish. In another bowl, mix eggs and milk. In a 3rd bowl, combine break crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, & oregano. Cut mozzarella sticks in half. Roll a piece of mozzarella in flour, dip into egg mixture, and roll in panko crumbs. Place coated sticks on a wax-lined baking sheet and place in freezer for at least 30 minutes. Pour oil to fill 1/3 to 1/2 way up in a heavy sauce pan. On med high heat, fry mozzarella sticks about 30 seconds each side until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
