Beef stew – created on the CHEF CHEF app for iOS taloysius (Tom O'Neil)

2lbs beef chuck (cut into cubes)
Worstesiere sauce (1tsp)
1 clove garlic
1 medium onion, sliced
1 or 2 bay leaves
Salt (1 tbsp)
Sugar (1tsp)
Pepper (1/2 tsp)
Paprika (1/2 tsp)
Allspice (dash)
6 carrots (cut)
4 potatoes (cut)
1/2 cup peas
2 cups hot water
1/2 cup red wine

1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons oil

1) Cover the beef cubes with a coating of flour, salt, pepper and paprika. Then drop the flour coated beef into hot oil in your pot. Let the cubed beef sear for a minute and a half before turning it to the other side to sear.

2) Add all but carrot and potatoes and let simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

3)remove garlic and leaves, add other vegetables and cook for additional 1/2 hour.

4) Drop biscuit dough and peas by the spoonful onto bubbling stew and cover to cook the dumplings in last 15 minutes
